About Clear Start

Clear Start is Dermalogica’ s breakout-focused sub-brand, designed to appeal to Gen Z and help treat their breakout-prone skin. Created by Dermalogica’ s founder Jane Wurwand when she saw firsthand the struggle her own children went through with their teen acne and the knock-on impact it had on their self-esteem. She created Clear Start to offer a range of products that help intercept acne before the symptoms escalate, while teaching young adults healthy skincare habits.

To increase focus and accelerate growth, a separate team has been created which operates autonomously from the Dermalogica organization. This has created incredibly exciting results so far, given the agility within the team to quickly create insights, test ideas, and push forward at pace.

As part of this team, you’ll contribute to building a vibrant, engaged creator and community ecosystem while gaining hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of beauty and skincare marketing.

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and self-motivated intern to support our Creator & Community initiatives. This role is perfect for someone passionate about creator and influencer marketing, social media, and community building in the skincare space. You’ll work closely with the marketing team to engage with creators and influencers, support campaign execution, attend events, and foster meaningful connections with our audience

This is a part-time paid internship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creator and Influencer Support & Collaboration:
  • Assist in identifying, vetting, and onboarding creators and influencers across various platforms (e.g., TikTok, YouTube, Instagram).
  • Support the execution of creator and influencer campaigns, including product seeding and content coordination.
  • Track and compile creator and influencer content for brand use across social and marketing channels.
  • Engage with creators and influencers to nurture authentic relationships and maintain a positive brand experience.
  • Monitor and stay ahead of emerging pop culture trends to inform creator and influencer strategies.
• Community Engagement:
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and engage Clear Start’s online community across various platforms.
  • Actively monitor and participate in online conversations related to skincare, beauty, and Gen Z interests to identify engagement opportunities.
  • Foster a sense of community among followers by initiating discussions, responding to comments, and encouraging user-generated content.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Care team to address customer inquiries and feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Organize and manage virtual events, such as live Q&A sessions, webinars, or online workshops, to engage the community and provide value-added content.
  • Identify and engage with brand advocates and super-fans to cultivate strong relationships and encourage brand loyalty.
• Event Activation:
  • Attend and support in-person events, such as college campus activations, pop-ups, and skincare workshops, to help build brand awareness and foster community engagement.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for on-campus events, including materials, products, and promotional items.
  • Act as a Clear Start ambassador by educating attendees about the brand and engaging with the community in real life.
  • Proactively engage with influencers and attendees, building authentic relationships to expand our brand presence.
• Content & Campaign Support:
  • Assist in brainstorming and executing creative ideas for creator and influencer campaigns and brand collaborations.
  • Stay up-to-date on trending content and suggest opportunities to incorporate them into Clear Start’s creator and community strategies.
  • Help draft briefs for creators and influencers to align with campaign goals and ensure on-brand messaging.
• Reporting & Analytics:
  • Track and analyze campaign performance metrics to help assess the effectiveness of creator and influencer partnerships.
  • Compile reports on social engagement and community sentiment, identifying key takeaways and areas for improvement.

• Comfortable engaging with people in both virtual and in-person settings.
• Enthusiastic about networking and building relationships.

Key Skills and Abilities:

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proficiency in major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube (YouTube Shorts).
• Familiarity with creator and influencer marketing platforms and tools is a plus (e.g., CreatorIQ, Aspire, GRIN, or similar).
• Previous experience with social media management, creator and influencer marketing, event support (internships, projects, or personal experience), and/or sales is a bonus.
• Availability to travel to local events, such as college campuses, if needed (travel reimbursement provided).

The expected base hourly pay rate is $18.50. The exact base pay rate is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
