Russell Tobin's client, a retail company, is hiring a Customer Service Representative in Port Washington, NY.

Job Title: Customer Service Representative (Bilingual French Preferred)

Location: Port Washington, NY (Remote to start, with potential for onsite work)

Employment Type: Temporary (with potential to become permanent after 6 months to 1 year)

Hours : M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Training Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM for 2 weeks (35 hours/week)

Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated Customer Service Representatives to join our team! In this role, you will handle calls from new and existing business clients, providing exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries, placing orders, resolving complaints, and offering product knowledge. This is a temporary remote position , with the possibility of transitioning to permanent employment after 6 months to 1 year. French-speaking candidates are a priority.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming calls and process orders
• Resolve customer complaints, troubleshoot issues, and determine the best path for resolution
• Document customer interactions and track call types
• Maintain support service levels and uphold company standards
• Follow up with customers to resolve inquiries regarding order status, shipping, and stock availability
• Handle up to 90% inbound phone calls during your assigned shift
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of customer service, hospitality, or call center experience
• Excellent telephone etiquette, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to listen attentively and comprehend customer inquiries
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Ability to navigate information systems and the internet

Preferred Qualifications:

• Higher education degree
• Experience using SAP
• Knowledge of Luxottica products and services, or experience in the optical industry
• Fluency in French (highly preferred)

Compensation:

• English speakers: $17.50/hour
• French-speaking candidates: $20.00/hour

Work From Home Requirements:

• Must have a desk or table to set up your monitor and desktop, with a direct wired internet connection (no wireless connections allowed)
• Must be able to set up and maintain a distraction-free workspace (free of family members, pets, etc.)
• Must be comfortable transporting desktop and monitor home, and setting up the equipment with instructions
• Must have a power source available near your workspace

Computer Pickup Details:

• Two equipment pick-up trips at our Port Washington office:

1. Before training, you will pick up temporary equipment.
2. After a week of training, you will swap for permanent equipment and receive a building tour, meet the leadership team, and attend additional training.

Note: Contractors will be paid 8 hours for the pick-up process.

Important: Candidates living more than 1 hour away from the Port Washington office will not be considered , as commuting is not practical for this position.
