A Day in the Life: The Director – Finance Analytics and Transformation within the Medtronic Diabetes Transformation Office will report to the Diabetes Transformation leader. This role will be responsible for driving significant and sustainable improvements in the profitability and financial performance of the Diabetes business by leveraging data and technology. Key responsibilities include: Leading the design and development of analytics decision engines for Finance and P&L management. Assembling a data lake environment for the Finance team. Automating P&L forecasting and cash flow analysis. Identifying key trends and drivers to deliver insights to the CFO. Collaborating closely with Digital Finance transformation leaders, FP&A leaders, and the CFO. Designing analytics data lakes and AI models to stay ahead of changing trends in the business. Translating business requirements and leading solution design for analytics technologies. Partnering with data engineering and data science teams to build the digital foundation for Diabetes operations. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Finance analytics and Decision Engine Infrastructure: Lead the development and implementation of automated P&L reporting and analysis tools for the finance team. Data-Driven Insights and Trend Identification: Utilize advanced analytics techniques to identify key trends impacting the P&L. Opportunity Identification and Prioritization: Leverage data insights to identify high-impact opportunities for P&L improvement. Transformation Strategy Development: Develop and lead the execution of comprehensive P&L transformation initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Technology Integration: Partner closely with business unit leaders to drive alignment and execution of transformation initiatives. Revenue Growth Initiatives: Identify and implement data-driven initiatives to drive revenue growth. Cost Optimization Initiatives: Lead data-enabled transformation initiatives to optimize COGS and operating expenses. Financial Modeling and Scenario Planning: Partner with Finance leadership to develop automated financial models. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish automated dashboards to monitor the progress of transformation initiatives. Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance P&L analytics. Change Management: Drive change management activities focused on promoting data literacy. Must Have: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience. OR, an advanced degree with 8+ years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience. Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications): MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Data Science preferred. Experience modernizing data analytics and AI decision infrastructure. 8+ years of progressive experience in finance or business operations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Good understanding of financial statements and P&L drivers. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python). Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience with BI platforms and process improvement methodologies is a plus.
