Interim Director of Finance & Operations Location: San Francisco, CA 94102 Date Posted: February 22, 2025 Job ID: 12657 Employment Type: Contract Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of Finance and Operations for our wonderful nonprofit partner, dedicated to supporting the transformative impact of girls’ education across Africa! This interim, remote position offers the opportunity to provide team leadership while offering flexible work arrangements. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly skilled finance professional with extensive experience in nonprofit financial management and operations. They will have a proven ability to lead teams, oversee complex financial processes, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable problem-solver who can work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies. Oversee and authorize wire transfers and financial transactions. Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the finance team and other departments. Manage and maintain accurate financial records and reports. Collaborate with senior leadership on financial planning and budgeting. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Extensive experience in nonprofit accounting and financial management. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience in short-term coverage roles or project-based assignments is highly desirable. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to a dynamic environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This interim, remote opportunity offers a competitive rate of $65-80/hr. Additionally, this role includes health benefits and sick time.
