Job Title: Welder - 1st Shift

Job Description

We manufacture stainless steel tanks for the dairy industry, requiring food-grade and sanitary welds. This position involves welding, grinding, fabrication, and primarily MIG welding. We also offer certification in TIG welding within our TIG department.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding stainless steel and aluminum for the production of tanks in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, custom fabricate or grind material as necessary to meet technical requirements and create a welded final product.
• Control fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid issues related to overheating, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage of parts.
• Read and understand basic prints and drawings.
• Problem-solve fabrication tasks.
• Perform overhead welding.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in stainless steel MIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• 3+ years of MIG welding experience.
• Experience in fitting, assembly, and fabrication.
• Ability to set up and weld metals unsupervised in MIG and TIG.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving tank production.
• Identify correct metal and processes for orders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Efficiency in welding tasks at 95-100%.
• Ability to train others.
• Ability to supervise multiple individuals (5-10).
• Expertise in welding various thicknesses of metal.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and fixing welding equipment.
• Ability to obtain in-house welding certifications.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a 1st Shift schedule from Monday to Thursday (5am-3:30pm), with optional overtime available after training. Fridays typically offer 4-5 hours of voluntary overtime. We have a structured PTO policy: new hires receive 5 paid vacation days and 3 paid personal days (prorated from the start date), and after 1 year, employees receive 2 weeks' vacation and 3 paid personal days. There are 11 paid holidays, including a paid day off for your birthday. Employees also have the flexibility of one unexcused call-in and one doctor’s note to excuse an unplanned absence per year.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
