🚀 What the Fractional Controller Does

You won’t just close books, you’ll open doors for small business growth.

• Own the close for a portfolio of ambitious clients: reconciling balance sheets, reviewing transactions, and ensuring everything aligns with GAAP.
• Deliver meaningful financials , including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting, plus trend commentary, variance analysis, and custom KPI dashboards that actually say something .
• Lead cash flow forecasting and budgeting , keeping a pulse on liquidity and surfacing strategic opportunities (and risks).
• Build better systems : Streamline internal controls, optimize SOPs, and deploy automation tools that make work smoother for clients and your team.
• Mentor a mix of local and remote staff , helping elevate their work and grow their careers while strengthening ours.
• Collaborate directly with business owners , serving as a thought partner who can bridge accounting and strategy, driving smart decisions on pricing, margin, cost control, and capital use.
• Coordinate with CPAs, lenders, and software partners. We’re relationship driven and value collaboration.

✅ Ideal Fit

You’re part Controller, part strategic thinker, and fully entrepreneurial.

• You think like an owner, not an employee: resourceful, proactive, and driven by outcomes.
• Solid background in accounting and FP&A with a bias toward execution
• CPA, CMA, MBA are a plus, but experience, mindset, and action matter most
• Deep understanding of GAAP, multi entity consolidations, and a wide range of industries (service, retail, hospitality, light manufacturing)
• Mastery of QuickBooks Online/Xero and strong Excel skills (Power Query, PivotTables); bonus if you’ve worked with BI tools like Power BI or Fathom
• Clear, confident communicator who can “tell the financial story” and earn trust with business owners
• Proven ability to juggle multiple client relationships while consistently delivering polished, on-time outputs
