Akkodis is seeking a software engineer (Python developer) for a client in Dearborn, MI.

Rate Range: $55.00/hour to $60.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

This is an exciting opportunity with an innovative, leading multi-national concern for a Software Engineer focused on building and driving the strategy forward for an internal Data Science/AI/ML platform.

This software engineering role will work in a small, cross-functional team. The position will collaborate directly and continuously with other engineers, business partners, product managers and designers, and will release early and often. The team you will be working on is focused on building an AI/ML enablement platform to democratize Machine Learning across the enterprise (similar to Uber’s Michelangelo, Facebook’s FBLearner, etc).

Candidate must be very strong in Python development, and have solid hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), MLops, CI/CD, and have decent exposure to GenAI.

This position is hybrid in Dearborn, Michigan. Remote is not an option for this role.

Position Responsibilities

• Work closely with Tech Anchor, Product Manager and Product Owner to deliver MLOPs platform and Gen AI solution in GCP using Python and other tools for the data scientists and business across the company.
• Develop services using Python.
• Deploy and manage ML models (MLops).
• Maintain and mange current CI/CD ecosystem and tools; setup and configure the pipelines.
• Examine, inspect codes / scripts and resolve issues.
• Help innovate standardize machine learning development practices.
• Experiment, innovate and share knowledge with the team.
• Lead by example in use of Paired Programming for cross training/upskilling, problem solving, and speed to delivery.
• Leverage latest ML/Gen A / GCP/AIOPs/Kubernetes technologies.

Skills Required:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
• 6+ years of work experience as a backend software engineer in Python with exceptional software engineering knowledge.
• Experience in MLops (machine learning ops), including deploying and managing ML models.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including setup and configuration.
• Advanced working knowledge of Python, and experience using frameworks like Flask and Django.
• Understanding and exposure to GenAI (including from academic projects).
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, including writing the Docker files.
• Experience with GCP Services like Vertex AI, Cloud Function, BigQuery etc.
• Experience in container management solution: Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience in scripting language: Bash, PowerShell etc.
• Experience with Infrastructure as code: Terraform etc.

Education Required:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
