As a Security Guard - Armed Inmate Hospital Watch in Lakeland, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in supporting a secure environment within a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the assigned area, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. This armed post requires you to be alert and proactive, utilizing your training and experience to address security-related concerns as they occur. What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a visible presence.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to site procedures.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency personnel as required during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with the public, staff, and visitors at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent. This requirement can be completed post hire.
  • Must possess a valid corrections officer license.
  • Must possess a valid law enforcement officer license.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
