Job Description

A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year, supporting students from PreK through 12th grade in an itinerant role across multiple school locations in Woodbridge, VA. This full-time, contract opportunity requires in-person work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, from August 13th to May 21st.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing individualized speech intervention programs designed by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Assisting in administering and scoring speech and language assessments.
• Collaborating with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
• Preparing documentation such as evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports.
• Attending meetings including IEP conferences and parent meetings.
• Transporting students to and from therapy and testing sessions.

Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders.
• Experience as a paraprofessional or in a school setting preferred.
• Training or experience in language and/or articulation therapy preferred.
• Strong communication skills including active listening and two-way communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive, flexible attitude.
• Willingness to learn and implement new strategies and techniques.

Location:

• Itinerant position within K-12 school settings in Woodbridge, VA.
