Test Engineer – Palisades Nuclear Plant

Our client is seeking a skilled Test Engineer to support restart and commissioning efforts at the Palisades Nuclear Plant. This is a contract opportunity ideal for engineers with nuclear experience, particularly in testing, commissioning, or operations. You'll play a key role in validating systems for safe and compliant operation during plant reactivation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and document test procedures for mechanical, electrical, and control systems aligned with Palisades and NRC standards.
• Perform pre-operational, surveillance, and performance testing as part of system turnover and restart.
• Analyze test data, resolve discrepancies, and deliver technical reports supporting plant startup and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with system engineers, operations, maintenance, and QA teams to ensure safe and efficient testing execution.
• Support resolution of field issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Maintain test records in accordance with NQA-1 and site procedures.
• Adhere to all nuclear safety, radiological, and site-specific safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related field preferred).
• 3–5+ years of nuclear experience, including testing, commissioning, or plant operations.
• Familiarity with NRC requirements, ASME/IEEE codes, and NQA-1 standards.
• Prior experience at Palisades or similar commercial nuclear sites is strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Must be eligible to obtain unescorted access at a nuclear facility.

Position Details:

• Location: Palisades Nuclear Plant – Covert, Michigan
• Schedule: Full-time; may include outage support and overtime
• Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, including OT during outage periods
