We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in our Winnipeg warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate our Flooring Installation business. This includes cutting carpet, underpad and various other installed products in preparation for the following day's flooring installations.

Duties

• Prepare materials for next day’s installs including cutting carpet, underpad and various other installed products.
• Loading and unloading trucks with a forklift – pole and prongs.
• General maintenance and cleanliness inside and outside of building; including minor repairs, snow shoveling (all walks and building access points) and ensuring walks and entrances are safe and free of ice.
• Ensure area around garbage bin is clean and free of debris.
• Ensure subcontractors are provided with the correct materials required for the installation in a timely fashion.
• Ensure the materials required for installation are loaded properly and safely for transportation.
• Ship and receive materials as required. May include manual lifting.
• Assist with large deliveries when required.
• Adhere to the company safety program.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills

• Proficient in operating forklifts (Forklift Certification required) including carpet pole experience (1 year preferred).
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required (up to 60 lbs).
• Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and inventory management systems.
• Basic math skills for accurate order picking and inventory tracking.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
