JOB TITLE: Cyber Security Intern

DURATION: 6 Weeks starting June16th
JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Cyber Security Intern to join our team and assist in key projects around Endpoint Protection, email security, and security policy management. You will work closely with experienced professionals to gain valuable insight into real-world cybersecurity operations while contributing to critical initiatives that help secure our organization's assets. Pay rate for this role is $18 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Endpoint Protection with Microsoft Defender:
Assist in the configuration and deployment of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across various devices and platforms.
Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to monitor and analyze endpoint security alerts and events.
Participate in troubleshooting and responding to endpoint security incidents to ensure devices are properly protected.
Email Phishing Campaigns with Proofpoint:
Support the design, testing, and execution of simulated phishing campaigns using Proofpoint to raise awareness and improve organizational resilience to phishing attacks.
Analyze phishing campaign results to identify trends and provide recommendations for employee training and awareness programs.
Assist in reviewing and enhancing email filtering policies to reduce the impact of phishing threats.
Security Policy Management:
Assist with reviewing, updating, and maintaining our internal security policies to align with industry standards and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security policies are communicated and understood across the organization.
Provide input on improving security documentation and guidelines to enhance the organization's overall security posture.
Security Research and Analysis:
Perform research on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, particularly focusing on endpoint protection and email security.
Stay up-to-date with Microsoft Defender and Proofpoint updates, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
A strong interest in cybersecurity, with some exposure to endpoint protection, email security, or related technologies.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Basic understanding of common cybersecurity concepts (e.g., threat actors, attack vectors, vulnerabilities).
Knowledge of phishing attack techniques and how email security tools prevent them.
Experience or coursework in security policy frameworks and risk management.
Familiarity with SIEM tools, security incident response processes, or network security is a plus.
